Secular folk cantata by Charles Faulkner Bryan. This cantanta was the piece funded by Bryan's Guggenheim award. It premiered at Carnegie Hall conducted by Robert Shaw in 1947. Based off a 19th century Southern United States folk legend of the Bell Witch haunting. This recording likely began on a record album and was recorded to reel.

It was inspired by his new home in Alabama. Recording tells the biography of Charles Faulkner Bryan at performance. Bryan did not attend the performance due to being hospitalized with the flu.
