Research collection for the paper "The Female Experience at Tennessee Tech: 1940-1990." The materials cover affirmative action, the role of women at Tech, and sexual discrimination at Tech. Of particular interest are the oral histories. Included are the recollections of a staff member who as a student and librarian has been a part of the university community for 50 years. Also included are the reminiscences of the first woman to receive a Ph.D. from Tennessee Tech and a woman athlete. The bulk of the collection is not available online. Topics include activism against anti-Black police brutality and for gun control, immigration reform, reproductive rights, and LGBTQ+ rights.
