Announcement of the purpose of the Peace and Human Rights Alliance, a student organization at Tennessee Tech University and a proposed Peace Moratorium on November 13, 1969 in front of Derryberry Hall.

Originally housing only the heating plant, the University Services building was erected in 1929. It was modernized in 1944 with the installation of new boilers, stokers, and railway siding with a dumping trestle. Two additional wings were added in 1948 and 1949. From 1966-1968, additional boilers and equipment were added. As of the 1970s, the University Services Building housed the heating plant, safety and security offices, the radio station, the Centrex telephone system, some offices and classroom space, and the printing office. WTTU is Tech's FM radio station which launched on Monday, May 29, 1972. President Derryberry flipped the switch to place the station on the air. The station was made possible by donations.
